Hotel Description:
Located on the corner of
Pall Mall and Waterloo Place, close to the internationally recognised
landmarks of Trafalgar Square and Regent Street, Sofitel St James London
is a new five star hotel.
Within walking distance from the shops of Jermyn Street and the theatres
of the West End, the hotel caters not only for theatregoers but also for
the international business and leisure traveller.
The Sofitel St James London is a Grade II listed building, originally
the home of the bank Cox’s and King’s. Designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon,
the 186-room hotel combines a classically elegant style with
sophisticated and contemporary elements. P-Y Rochon has put a strong
emphasis on art and has created a comfortable and warm atmosphere
throughout the hotel. All the rooms feature mahogany and lacquer
furniture, and large marble en-suite bathrooms.
Opening onto the main hall, The Rose Lounge provides an informal yet
elegant meeting place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the West
End where you can enjoy a delicious afternoon tea to the sound of a harp
while browsing through the many books of the library.
For a drink, the St James Bar is the ideal meeting place, recreating the
atmosphere of a gentlemen’s club, it offers the most extensive range of
non-vintage and vintage Champagnes in London.
Inspired by the world-renowned chef, Albert Roux, Brasserie Roux offers
over 40 light, simply prepared and presented brasserie dishes
complemented by an outstanding value for money wine list. The 100-seat
restaurant is also opened for breakfast and offers a worth trying pre
and post theatre menu.
Sofitel St James London caters for all manners of functions, from a
discreet board meeting to a lavish banquet. The Sofitel concept
boardroom and its private dining room and the eight conference and
meeting rooms, all named after distinguished districts of London,
provide ample choice of meeting facilities.
